Berachain and Linea Protocol are major blockchain projects with upcoming airdrops, and their users are betting high on this happening. Recent polling on decentralized prediction markets indicates both projects are close to airdrops launching in the first quarter of 2025 with expectations running high.
In a recent poll with $22,000 in assets, Polymarket users have set the odds of Berachain’s airdrop at a whopping 90% while also 89% for Linea. They are indicative of a greater and growing confidence in the launch of these much-awaited events in the crypto world.
Berachain and Linea Lead the Blockchain Revolution
One of the most promising newbies in the blockchain sector, Berachain is at the forefront. It raised $43 million in 2023, a fantastic amount by any measure, and at the start of 2024 it raised $100 million, which is how it became worth $1 billion. It’s a layer 1 network that is building an ecosystem around the decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.
All of this is made available through an array of services (BEX, a DEX that competes with Uniswap, BEND, a lending & borrowing platform that competes with Aave) through the network. The token trading additional features include BERPS and BGT Station, which provides governance participation for BGT Token holders. HONEY is a native stablecoin at the heart of our ecosystem, bringing together these decentralized applications (dApps).
Growth on the network has been exponential. In total, Berachain has processed more than 533 million transactions since it has been here. Impressed, 57.14 million of those transactions occurred in the last 14 days. The number of active addresses on the network has shot up, from 945,000 on December 15 to 3 million as of January 2025.
As competitors of Ethereum scaling networks such as Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism, Linea is picking up speed. Linea was launched by ConsenSys, a leading player in the crypto world, to ameliorate the scalability and efficiency of the Ethereum network. Rapid growth has also been seen with its ecosystem, processing over 241 million transactions across the network. Since last two weeks, Linea has processed about 240,000 transactions.
All of that success can be attributed to the support Linea has received from ConsenSys, which has raised over $450 million from major investors such as Third Point, ParaFi, and Softbank. The project is also supported by Linea Foundation, a Swiss organization responsible for the protocol development. To date, Linea has syndicated 37 pools, creating $383 million in total locked value. Standouts in its growing ecosystem are Mendi, ZeroLend, and Lynex.
With airdrop season in full swing, crypto enthusiasts are looking to the next crypto project to fly high, far away from previous projects’ mixed results. Launched variations of airdrops for their own popular protocols, such as zkSync, EigenLayer, Wormhole, LayerZero, and Hamster Kombat, each of which has had varying levels of success. In providing Wormhole as an example, their token has dropped sharply 82% from their all-time high post listing, while EigenLayer’s token value decreases 30%.
