Bitwise Incorporated introduces a new exchange-traded fund (ETF) for March 11, 2025, that lets investors track Bitcoin investments in public companies. The Bitwise Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF started trading on the NYSE by selecting companies that have kept $1,000 or more in their business assets.
The ETF will begin trading ten firms that heavily use Bitcoin, with MicroStrategy as a prominent initial selection. Aside from the major companies, the fund consists of Riot Platforms, Boyaa Interactive, and Galaxy Digital, which Mike Novogratz leads.
MicroStrategy leads with massive Bitcoin treasury
The Bitwise Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF offers an indirect approach to Bitcoin investments through its selection of companies invested in Bitcoin reserves. The fund gives investors the opportunity to buy into businesses that bought Bitcoin to support their corporate direction.
According to Matt Hougan of Bitwise, the companies see Bitcoin as a specific asset class that they hold, like central banks hold their gold reserves to protect against financial risks.
“Our ETF enables investors to access companies that hold Bitcoin reserves, noticing its financial value.” Hougan clarified the product’s design objective. We predict that these companies will continue growing their Bitcoin strategy.
The Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF undergoes a quarterly review which affects how much Bitcoin each company holds and affects its position in the fund. The ETF will hold multiple stocks, but restrictions will control how much capital flows into each stock to keep the portfolio balanced.
MicroStrategy stands out as the biggest company-buyer of Bitcoin and will play a significant role within the ETF. As Executive Chairman Michael Saylor leads MicroStrategy, the business intelligence firm has bought more than 190,000 BTC to build their Treasury.
Bitwise debuted this ETF after releasing their first product line, the Bitwise Diaman Bitcoin & Gold ETP. Euronext Paris and Amsterdam-listed Bitwise Diaman Bitcoin & Gold ETP calculates Bitcoin and gold investments through market responses.
Bitwise manages $12 billion in client investments and leads the way in developing crypto-related products for investment markets. Organizations that invest in Bitcoin now have easier ways to add crypto to their regular market portfolios through the Bitcoin Standard Corporation ETF.
As institutions show more interest in Bitcoin, the Bitwise ETF model offers investors a path to cryptocurrency benefits without owning Bitcoin directly.
