Cardano has gained a reputation for being a scientific approach and research that benefits the community by being peer reviewed. Then there is the research and development firm behind ADA, Input Output (IO), which has released the firm’s Strategic Research Agenda, detailing nine key thematic focus areas and programmes to be conducted.
In a recent tweet from the official IO X account of Input Output Research, the company shared its vision for Cardano and conditioning it for 2030. This agenda includes scaling the Ouroboros protocol stack, raising the bar on identity and credential mechanisms to tackle these problems and others posed by blockchain technology, and giving us the means to interchain to address problems and take advantage of opportunities in blockchain.
The nine focus areas include: Ouroboros Omega, Tokenomicon, Global Identity, Democracy 4.0, the Internet Hydra-ted, Interchains, Core Zero knowledge Capabilities, and the Post Quantum Landscape.
Cardano’s Cross-Chain dApps and Zero-Knowledge Capabilities for Enhanced Privacy
With the mission to make ADA the “World’s Operating System,” the goal is to create the tools that will enable secure and efficient smart contracts and enable secure distribution of additional services. With Cardano’s ecosystem evolving, advanced features such as an increment in transaction throughput and processing power require improvements to Ouroboros.
Crypto tokenomics is not getting the right spotlight in blockchain and ADA also aims to make strides in this area. ADA aims to get attention into this important arena with features like native user defined assets and Babel fees for flexible transaction payments in the pipeline.
The Global Identity focus area intends to seamlessly embed identity management into the core of Cardano’s functionality including transactions, smart contracts, and governance, while ensuring compatibility at a global level throughout the rest of the ecosystem. The goal of Democracy 4.0 is to protect voting rights and to incentivize their use on Cardano.
Cardano’s scalability solution known as Hydra is set to deliver significantly speedier transactions at a much lower cost with lower latency (time to respond to queries) compared with what can be done today, particularly for high throughput usages like gaming and supply chain management.
Cardano’s cross chain decentralized application, which supports both layer1 and layer2, is a strong contender when it comes to decentralized applications as blockchain ecosystem continues to evolve. But ADA is taking this further, incorporating pluggable zero-knowledge (ZK) tooling and redefining itself as a leader in privacy, secure transactions. Moreover, once these advancements have been deployed, Cardano’s infrastructure will be strengthened by future proof, infinitely scalable cryptographic solutions.
